A strong immune system reduces the frequency of getting sick. Antioxidant-rich nutrition, adequate water consumption, healthy sleep, and reduced consumption of packaged foods support the strengthening of the immune system in both adults and children. A colorful plate model consisting of fresh fruits and vegetables that we give plenty of space in our diet; supports our immunity and health with its antioxidant content. Adding Vitamins C and D3, minerals such as zinc, and natural food supplements such as Anatolian propolis extract to the healthy eating pattern also helps to support immunity in natural ways. Especially during the pandemic, Propolis Extract and Vitamin D3 were among the natural supplements whose importance was better understood.
Vitamin D3 is essential for a strong immune system!
Many genetic, molecular, cellular, and human studies suggest that regular Vitamin D3 and vitamin K support benefits bone and cardiovascular health. It is known that Vitamin D3 plays a role in anti-inflammatory mechanisms and increases interleukin 10 (IL-10), which plays a role in the defense system. In a scientific study conducted at Wageningen University in 2020, the effects of Vitamins D3 and K2 on COVID-19 were investigated. This study showed that the mortality rate of COVID-19 patients supplemented with Vitamin D3 was lower.
Researchers recommend using Vitamin K2 to prevent side effects such as arterial stiffness and bone resorption while using Vitamin D3 to reduce infection. In another scientific study published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition in 2020, it was stated that low Vitamin D levels were associated with an increased risk of COVID-19 infection.
Anatolian propolis Extract helps protect against viruses!
A scientific study published in the Journal of European Reviews for Medical and Pharmacological Sciences in 2022 investigated the effect of Anatolian propolis against COVID-19 on healthcare workers. Two hundred and four health workers who participated in the study were divided into two equal groups. The experimental group received 30% Anatolian propolis extract twice a day during a follow-up period of one month. The control group received no supplement but was followed up. The participants who showed any infection symptoms for one month and all the participants at the end of the study were subjected to PCR testing for COVID-19. At the end of the follow-up period, only two out of 102 participants who received Anatolian propolis containing 30% drops were COVID-positive. However, fourteen participants in the control group had a positive diagnosis of COVID-19 PCR test. A statistically significant level of protection was approximately 98% in the group who received Anatolian propolis against COVID-19 compared to the control group.
Combining vitamins D3 and K2 with Anatolian propolis and a healthy diet can contribute to supporting the immune system naturally through a synergistic benefit.
